Team Yahooo "fun-raiser" for Illabo kids

The Yahooo’s have organised a fantastic "fun-raiser” for their local country kids.

On 15 July the real Paper Pilots, Dylan Parker and James Norton, about who the new hit movie “Paper Planes” is based, are making a special trip to Illabo to run a series of six workshops with six local small country schools during school hours.

They will then host an open invitation “workshop” and sausage sizzle later that day for the rest of the Junee and Cootamundra communities to participate in the fun.

The boys will be showing the kids a bit about what makes aeroplanes fly, how they are built and then show them how to build their own paper planes for a “fly-off”. Prizes will include RFDS merchandise, Team Yahooo caps and special “signature” planes made and signed by the Paper Pilots, Dylan and James.

Andrew and Yahooo will be giving the kids an extra thrill with a fly-over (and maybe a barrel roll or two) between sessions. Local businesses and the schools will be supporting this event.

Team Yahooo announce their team Major Sponsor!

Team Yahooo recently secured their own team Major Sponsor, with Dick Smith Foods Foundation chipping in a $5,000 donation to the RFDS to support team Yahooo. Well done team Yahooo and thank you Dick Smith Foods Foundation!

Team Yahooo is thrilled to have Dick Smith Foods Foundation as a major team sponsor for the 2015 OAR event.

With Dick’s passions for flying plus all things Aussie grown and made, his support of Team Yahooo is perfect given that we are farmers flying around in our “home-made” plane.

A huge thank you to Dick and all at DSF for your generous support of Team Yahooo and the 2015 Outback Air Race. You have really helped us to inch closer to our fundraising target for the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

Our team fundraising total is rapidly approaching $100,000, thanks to some recent efforts from teams such as The Altitude Chasers ($15,000 fundraising dinner) and The Instrumentals ($5,000 donation from Jandakot Airport Holdings).

We are targeting $250,000 raised by teams which does not include funds raised from event sponsors and other sources. The actual current total fundraising figure is very impressive and a closely guarded secret, which we look forward to announcing at the Hamilton Island finish party!
