Merry Christmas from the Outback Air Race

The response to the 2018 Outback Air Race has been outstanding and unprecedented in the race history.  The 2018 event is the 10th Outback Air Race, which coincides with the 90th anniversary of the Royal Flying Doctor Service. To bring 2017 to a neat end, the RFDS has again been judged the most reputable charity organisation in Australia.  This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the staff and volunteers that work with the RFDS to provide the finest care to the furthest corner.

We currently have 42 teams accepted into the event.  Team captains are busy finalising who their team members will be, what aircraft they will use, how they will travel to the start / finish, getting team biographies and photos ready, as well a developing a strategy on how to raise funds.  Every team is different, so every team has a different strategy.

In 2018, there will be a range of fundraising events around Australia being run by teams to raise funds to allow them to enter the event.  The details of these will be made available on the race web page and on Facebook

The race committee might slow down a little over the holiday period, but the RFDS do not. They are available everyday of the year, 24hrs a day. Rain, Hail or Shine.

Even though, the committee will be taking a small break from their day jobs over Christmas, we are still hard at it, getting everything ready to make 2018 the best event ever.  If you have any questions regarding the event, please send us an e-mail.

The Committee of the Outback Air Race would like to wish everyone a happy and safe Christmas and we look forward to the New Year.
